Ground Level Presents… PLAYGROUND – Album Out Now

Watch the YouTube Mini-Documentary here - http://youtu.be/7iavq__PIXY

It’s finally dropping…

An album of bass, funk, beats and plenty of heart and soul, all centred around a label that (through 5 years) has stayed true to its purpose: Bringing dance-heads the freshest sounds of the underground. Featuring a hugely diverse selection of artists (both label stalwarts and high-profile guests), this compilation blasts out from breakbeat roots into something truly current and ear-grabbing. I am very proud to have been a part of the project and extra happy to see it finally reach the public domain!

Juno Download – Selections for August

Back with another load of those block rockin’ beats! There’s finally been some ‘actual’ summer in the UK but that hasn’t stopped the folks that slave away in studios to get your booty shakin’ from punching out some surefire bombs. Here’s my August selection, featuring the best in Breaks, Electro house, Dub-step and anything else that get’s my blood pumping! Hope you enjoy the tunes (“,)

July’s Choice Tunes – Juno Download

The summer might not be hot but these tunes are!! Lately I’ve had my head buried in the studio working on my debut album for Ground Level, due out later this year / early next. It’s been loads of fun but it did mean I’ve not brought you a chart for since April. Hopefully this selection for July will make up for it! Check out my new mixes and tunes (including plenty of free tracks and exclusive previews) over at www.soundcloud.com/rebelsketchy

Long Time No Song. . .

It’s been far too long since I’ve made a post here but thanks to everyone for keeping up the following on soundcloud and twitter. My latest single was released last week and is already climbing the charts at Beatport. Thanks to everyone for the support and if you haven’t picked up a copy yet please do. Your support means everything to me…

And there have been some very flattering write-ups appearing on the web over the last week. Here are some of my top picks. Thanks to those involved and if you take a look at these you will find a free tune (my Rihedit of ‘Where Have You Been’ by Rihanna) ready for you to download and get your booty shaking to! And a free DJ mix I did exclusively for BreakzLinkz.

New Rebel Game (Radballs)

Thanks to the brilliance of a particular game I’ve discovered (on iOS) I have decided to give some space to the subject of video games. I guess I’m a real fan of games, not quite a geek in the way I am about, say, film but I’m definitely passionate about good games, whether they be huge in scope, like Just Cause 2 (PS3) or small and simple, like Tiny Wings (iOS), I’ll always find time to play. At this point I feel the need to point out that I’m not into those games that require you to put on a headset and run around virtual battlefields, shouting obscenities into your microphone at other people all over the globe. You can keep those games and that experience for yourself, I’m sure it’s a lot of fun but it kinda leaves me cold.

So. . . Let’s talk about RADBALLS! Is this the best iOS game ever?

This is an amazing little gem of a game. Controls are simple and yet, after a first play (which might keep you at it or hours I warn you!) you’ll want to learn from the tips and secrets to go deeper into the rabbit hole and beat those harder levels!

I’ve always loved rhythm-based games and this is the absolute best of that genre whilst breaking out to be one of the most original and addictive puzzlers since Tetris!

The overall design of this game is outstanding. The creator, Neil Voss manages to pull together the holy trinity of ingenuity, style and music into a seamless universe of beat-driven, fun-filled action. It’s no surprise that his credentials read so well. You can follow him on twitter by clicking here.

It’s a no-brainer. Just grab it. People will be talking about this like Angry Birds soon. It’s so much better than those pissed-off nest-dwellers!

And remember… “Don’t drag the Radballs, flick them for best results!”

Score: 5/5

You can find out more about Radballs on the official site.
